My tech exploits. Nah... closer to a tech diary, and work log, so if I forget something, but know I forgot, I'll maybe be able to look it up here. And as a bonus, perhaps someone out there will find it useful or interesting. As is only fair, being nearly all the information put here was gleaned from elsewhere on the web.

LG dLite GD570 video conversion format
LG dLite GD570 is capable of playing video on its beautiful 400x240 widescreen. And it is smart enough to do screen rotation to fill the screen when the phone is physically rotated.
But what format video do you need to convert your videos to be able to watch them on your dLite?
Through trial and error I find that dLite plays mp4 videos with a maximum resolution of 320x240. Unfortunately it means you cannot play at the full screen resolution 1:1 at 400x240. But it is capable of full screen zooming wide screen video, such as those with 320x180 (1.77 ratio) resolution, when rotated sideways.
So go and convert your favorite tv shows, movies, and whatever other media and copy it on to your dLite to carry with you to enjoy anywhere.
Two free mp4 video converters I use are ripbot264 and handbrake. ripbot I find gives you better and more control while still remaining easy enough to use for non-videophile (me), whereas handbrake is the easiest to use.
