My tech exploits. Nah... closer to a tech diary, and work log, so if I forget something, but know I forgot, I'll maybe be able to look it up here. And as a bonus, perhaps someone out there will find it useful or interesting. As is only fair, being nearly all the information put here was gleaned from elsewhere on the web.

MediaMonkey music organizer software for LG GD570 media player MTP sync
LG phone media player does not support imported playlist using MSC (USB drive) mode. Have to use Microsoft's MTP (media transfer protocol) to support import playlist sync. Trying to avoid WMP. Songbird and MediaMonkey are up to date free alternatives. I liked Songbird functional interface which feels very much like Winamp. But songbird MTP mode does not work on LG phone and had to be rejected. MediaMonkey has a retro, distinct feeling interface, but it is functionally complete and performs like a charm. Doesn't come with video support until you add 3rd party VLC video plug-on.
I've found LG phone's MTP only works with audio files. Even using WMP it fails to sync video files. And even transferring video files through filemanager, videos do not appear in LG phone's file manager nor media player.

Note: Possible project, write a playlist converter midlet for LG, as LG playlists are stored in phone internal flash memory (Public/), in m3u type of format. Create playlist on computer, transfer to LG, convert.
